Menu for Southern Fried Pop Tart – Sat June 30

When coming up with a theme for this dinner menu, I just couldn’t stop thinking back to my roots. Watching my grandmother stitch and knit, eating more fried chicken and fresh made corn bread than any human should ever consume… it all reminded me of family reunions and gatherings in the deep country, one horse towns of East Texas – the slaw, the gumbo, the cobbler,  the pecan pie, the sweet tea, the corn everything, and the fried EVERYTHING. (And why did they always take place in cemeteries??)  
 
So anyway – getting back to my roots, Southern Fried it would be!!!
Please join us Saturday June 30th for a “southern bell gone glam” event! Reservations are required, and it will fill up, so don’t hesitate!
 
SOUTHERN FRIED POP TART MENU – Saturday June 30th, 6pm
 
 1st Course – Fried Green Tomato with Remoulade Sauce, Jalapeno Hush Puppy with a Texas BBQ Sauce,  Fresh Summer Slaw.
 
 2nd Course – Watermelon and Toasted Pecan Salad
 
 Main Course – Cajun Jambalaya Topped with Garlic Aoli. Served with Creamed Kale and Okra 2 ways: Pickled and Fried
 
Dessert – Spiced Peach Cobbler, Bourbon Pecan Ice Cream. Topped in a Maple Bourbon Caramel Reduction
 
All items are meat and animal product free (vegan). Menu subject to change.
