  • Women in Film and Music event with Beth Orton, featuring Castle Gourmet!

Back yards, booze, great tunes, and gourmet veggie food? Well all right! That’s exactly what people got at an exclusive party in Venice, CA this past weekend. Taking place in a private home, a select lucky group of people (supporters of the film and music industry) were invited to enjoy a fantastic evening celebrating WIF (Women in Film) and their launch of a music branch of the enterprise. The amazingly talented singer/song writer Beth Orton performed, cocktails were flowing from the ever delicious Hendricks Gin and Reyka Vodka, and gourmet vegetarian Hors D’oeuvres provided by your truly… It was a special night, without a doubt!

  • Chef Anne Lee makes MAGIC FOOD for VIP SXSW event at Airbnb’s Pop-Up Park

If we’ve been a bit silent for a while.. there is a reason why! We’ve been busy busy producing a crazy awesome culinary event across state lines. Chef Anne Lee was flown to Austin, Texas this past week during the SXSW music conference to be a part of Airbnb’s Pop-Up Park experience. This was no small feat! The event was a smash hit. Not only did the invite only VIP guests get to test the newest Castle Gourmet Dining experience – Chef Anne Lee’s Culinary Alchemy, they also got an up close and personal live performance by renowned magician Helder Guimaraes. It was phenomenal!

The food was fun and playful, with elements of mystery and surprise to every dish.

Special thanks to The Windish Agency  for producing the event, those at McSweeney’s for all the support, and to all that were down in Austin for SXSW and came out to support and experience the event!

  • VEGA Unleashed party heats it up! In a healthy way, of course.

Renowned vegan and proprietor of vegan sports performance supplement line VEGA – Brendan Brazier is hot and only getting hotter. The man is unstoppable, and in addition to the multitude of books he has published, has now launched a new health and fitness magazine. THRIVE Magazine had their launch party this past Saturday night in DTLA, also serving as an afterparty for the Natural Products Expo West Convention that went on all of last week. It was only appropriate that Chef Anne Lee of Castle Gourmet Dining was asked to hook the party of more than 400 people up with some tasty vegan treats. In the health food and vegan world this is huge! Haha, so we were stoked. And so, it seemed, was Brendan Brazier himself, as well as some  cute ladies who posed for a pic with the food on the red carpet… Even food can be glamorous!

Looking good! And, of course, check out the super yummy treats we made…

And, if you get a chance, check out the new mag!

  • Castle Gourmet Honored to Cater Spike Jones’ HER Movie Oscar night Official After Party!

What a fantastic weekend! Los Angeles always gets a buz in the air on Oscar night, no doubt about that. This week was no exception. With Spike Jones’ indie film HER being nominated for a variety of awards, a lot of people were really pumped. And we were pumped too! That’s because Chef Anne Lee of Castle Gourmet  had the honor of providing food and refreshments to more than 400 people at Spike Jones’ Official HER Oscars after party at Mack Sennett Studios! DJs for the evening included Win Butler from Arcade FireSqueak E. Clean and Chris Holmes and Allie Teilz of The Embassy. There were a multitude of celebs in tow, including a Beatle… none other than Sir Paul McCartney himself! That man can dance!

The night was packed with an excited and hungry crowd. The theme for the event was ‘RED’ – and so was all of the lighting, so we didn’t end up getting too many good pix (that may have been the idea, haha!) But it was seriously fun.

The lighting was in no way kind to the food, but that didn’t stop anyone from chowing down.  Special thanks to Mack Sennett Studios, as well as Chris Holmes, Ana Calderon, and the rest of the crew at the The Embassy for having us. Was a great night!

  • A Day in Topanga – Love was in the air!

Chef Anne Lee was invited to be a part of ‘SUP Magazine’s “A Day in Topanga” event this past Saturday, Feb 22. The event took place in an awesome setting in Topanga Canyon – a private home nestled against the mountainside. It was a beautiful and intimate winter picnic at a modern rustic mountain retreat.

Folky steel-guitar and banjo player Daniel Bachman performed live, and Hors D’oeuvres and dinner was provided by Castle Gourmet Dining. It was pretty magical!

Special thanks to ‘SUP Magazine for the invite. We hope to do it again!

  • LA Underground Market Success

  • Menu for Southern Fried Pop Tart – Sat June 30

When coming up with a theme for this dinner menu, I just couldn’t stop thinking back to my roots. Watching my grandmother stitch and knit, eating more fried chicken and fresh made corn bread than any human should ever consume… it all reminded me of family reunions and gatherings in the deep country, one horse towns of East Texas – the slaw, the gumbo, the cobbler,  the pecan pie, the sweet tea, the corn everything, and the fried EVERYTHING. (And why did they always take place in cemeteries??)

So anyway – getting back to my roots, Southern Fried it would be!!!
Please join us Saturday June 30th for a “southern bell gone glam” event! Reservations are required, and it will fill up, so don’t hesitate!
